Teachers' Resources Training: Sri Lanka Nursery Schools.
Each resource pack is intended to give nursery teachers the materials for 24 practical creative lessons.
The children will benefit from the gradual introduction of more child - centred learning, and less formal teaching. These benefits include building confidence and self esteem, self discipline, hand-eye coordination. love of learning, cooperation with others, and imagination.... all in their important formative years.
During training, teachers will understand how to introduce lessons in a simple and constructive way, preparing the children for the main task, and extending that task into another, where appropriate. The teachers themselves will learn through using resources, and not by dry lectures on Montessori theory.
Printed sheets are prepared at the Resources Training Centre in Seeduwa, and local natural materials used, wherever possible.
