Although it is believed that it has been around much longer, the first patent on a game of tiddlywinks was taken out in 1888 when the game was trademarked as Tiddledy- winks and distributed solely by John Jacques and Sons. Over time, many different versions of the game were marketed, and Tiddlywinks became a parlour game craze of the 1890’s with both adults and children alike.
In some versions of the game you use your "squidger" (larger tiddlywink) to flick a small tiddlywink into a plastic cup. In other games you try to flip your tiddlywink onto a target, so winning 50 points, 30, 20 and so on. The first to reach 1000 points wins the game. You must remember that if you land on a line, and do not clear the space then you have no points!
